Audrey Rose Brown (Hauble)

June 29, 1926 – June 15, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Audrey Rose Brown (Hauble) on June 15, 2025, at the age of 98.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Henry Brown. She is lovingly remembered by her children: William J. Brown; Michael H. Brown and his wife, Deborah; Rita C. Brown & partner Mark Bohnen; Karen J. Brown and her husband, Matthew J. Haslach; and Kellen M. Brown along with 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

Audrey was born and raised in Forest Lake, Minnesota by Matthew and Josephine Hauble. She married Michael H. Brown in 1949 and together they raised their five children in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. Audrey was an active and devoted member since 1959 of St. Patrick’s Church in Inver Grove Heights, where she found community and friendship through the Circle of Friends group and offered comfort to others as part of the grief counseling group.

For many years, Audrey worked at the neighbor’s greenhouse nurturing her lifelong love of gardening. She also spent many years as a nanny for several local families. When her children were grown, she found a new passion in writing and proudly authored and self-published two novels.

Audrey spent the last 20 months of her life living with and being cared for by her daughter Karen and son-in-law Matthew at their home in Osceola, WI. Audrey spent this time enjoying her family and friends through outings, activities and many visits. She loved watching the wildlife that made their home in their backyard. Adoray Home Health and Hospice were an integral part of Audrey being able to remain with them until her death and the family cannot thank them enough.

Audrey will be remembered as a witty, practical, and honest woman whose love and strength shaped her family for generations. She balanced firmness and warmth effortlessly, guiding her children with both wisdom and humor. Creative at heart, Audrey found joy in simple things — tending her gardens, cooking hearty meals, watching the birds outside her window, and spending time surrounded by nature. Her deep knowledge of gardening and her appreciation for the outdoors were matched only by her love for family trips, adventures, and cherished days at the lake cabin. Those who knew her will always remember her sharp mind, quick wit, and the way she could make any moment brighter with her laughter and loving presence. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
