life story

Cynthia Lee Mary Sewray (LaBelle), affectionately known as Cindy, passed away on June 2, 2025, in Maple Grove, Minnesota, at the age of 71. A longtime resident of Champlin, Minnesota, Cindy faced a courageous health battle with grace and strength.

Born on January 26, 1954, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cindy was the daughter of Patricia and Richard LaBelle. From an early age, she was known as a peacemaker among her siblings—always striving to bring harmony and unity to those around her. She had a deep aversion to conflict and was often the one who brought everyone back together with compassion and understanding.

Cindy’s family was the center of her world. She took great joy in staying connected with each member of her family and loved catching up over long phone conversations. Her warmth and attentiveness made her a cherished presence in the lives of those she held dear.

She shared 51 devoted years of marriage with her loving husband, Gary Sewray. Together they built a life filled with love and family. Cindy is survived by their three daughters: Tina Wielinski (Chad) of Ramsey; Tammy Sewray (Russ Flett); and Tara Sewray (Craig Hoheisel), both of Princeton. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Connor and Cason Wielinski; Gavin Peterson and McKenna Flett; Kensley, Kayda, and Kyah Hoheisel.

Cindy is also survived by her siblings: Debbie Hentges (Roger), Linda Mohs (Randy), Jeff LaBelle, Susie Johnson (Denny), Craig LaBelle (Mary), and Christy Koppy (Charlie). She leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends who will remember her kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love.

A private gathering with immediate family will be held at a later date to honor Cindy’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in care of Gary Sewray.

Cindy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and enduring love will live on through the hearts of those she touched.
