life story

Joan C. Baker (née Dahnert), age 84, passed away peacefully on June 7th at her home in Eagan, Minnesota. Joan was born on March 4, 1941, in Rochester, MN. In addition to raising her two sons (her favorite job), she ran an art gallery and worked for IBM in Rochester and Advanced Energy in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, and found joy in drawing and painting, particularly with watercolor. She is survived by her brothers Roger and Mike (Cindy), her sons Charlie (Janice) and JD, her grandchildren Samantha and Jackson, three nieces (Tatia, Nikki, and Shana), her nephew Tait, and her grandnieces/nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Lila Dahnert. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at Mount Frontenac golf course from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Humane Society in Joan’s memory.
