Marie A Klun
March 28, 1939 – May 20, 2025
White Bear Lake, MN, USA
Age 86, of White Bear Lake, MN
Marie A. Klun (Bonnie) passed away peacefully at her home on May 20, 2025, surrounded by her children.
Born and raised in Ely, Minnesota, Bonnie carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. She was a lifelong lover of books—often reading several at once—enjoyed cats, gardening and especially flowers. Her deep Slovenian roots grounded her, and she took great pride in sharing the traditional foods, stories, and customs of her heritage with the generations. Her life was guided by strength and a steadfast love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles (Chuck); her parents, Anton and Rose Kozar of Ely, MN; and siblings, Rose Scott, Jeanette Steinart, Dolores (Dollie) Maki, and Kenneth (Kenny) Kozar.
Bonnie leaves behind a lasting legacy in her children: Michael (Vicki), David (Linda), Thomas, and Kristin Ott (Bart); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and her sister Leone DeBernardi. Her resilient spirit and affection continue to live on through them.
Bonnie and Chuck met at a dance in the 1950s, beginning a lifelong love that was always set to music. From their early courtship to their final years together, dancing remained a cherished part of their bond. Though Chuck passed in 1976, Bonnie held onto their memories for over 49 years. Now, at last, they are reunited—dancing together through eternity.
Following her wishes, a Memorial gathering celebrating Marie’s life is planned for Wednesday, June 4, from 1-3 pm at her home located at 5200 Pathways Ave in White Bear Lake, MN. A private Mass and burial will take place at a later date.
