Mary Asher

We lost our beloved mother, Mary Asher peacefully on June 3rd. She battled cancer and gave it a good fight!!

Mary Irene, the daughter of Lloyd and Martha (Mattson) Whittier, was born on December 8, 1947 in Farmington, MN. Mary was united in marriage to Paul Asher on October 16, 1965 at the Faith United Methodist Church. Together they raised their three children in Farmington.

She was a lifelong resident of Farmington and a MN Vikings fan. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and fresh flower bouquets. She loved baking, especially in the winter months, and shared her treats with family and friends. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Stacie Kath (Jeff Meyer), Gina (Randy) Giles, and Ryan (Robyn) Asher; grandchildren Travis (Emily) Kath, Dylan and Amanda Giles, Natasha, Alesha and Tyler Asher, Chantelle and Layni; thirteen great grandchildren, sister Nancy Akin, and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul, parents Lloyd and Martha, brothers David and Norman Whittier, sisters Sharyn Crabtree and Sandra Patton, grandsons Kyle and Brandon Kath and Blake Asher.

She will be remembered for the joy, laughter and love she shared with so many!

A Celebration of Life will be held later for family and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Minnesota Hospice and The Legacy of Farmington for their care of Mary.
