A Lifetime of Adventure

Celebrating almost a century of life lived to the fullest, this Epilogg will become the Life Story of Shirley Ann (Slettum) Larson.

Announcing Shirley's Life Story

Shirley Ann (Slettum) Larson, born July 15, 1929, in Turtle Lake, ND, to Icelander Sigrid Anna (Dinusson) and Norwegian Melvin Arthur Slettum, died peacefully at her home in Saint Paul, MN, on June 24, 2025 at the age of 95 years. She will be cremated by Crescent Tide, with her ashes joining those of her beloved husband, Vincent Hennix Larson.

In lieu of a Memorial Service, which Shirley did not wish to have (believing that "Life is for the Living)" her niece, Ann, will be reaching out to family and friends in small clusters for personal phone calls and casual get-togethers to honor Shirley with storytelling and fellowship, as she wishes. Her final request was to write a story, and her colorful life will be written in this space, unfolding over the next few weeks or months. Please revisit! And please add stories to the guest book. Thank You!

Memorials in Shirley's honor are asked to be given in the manner that she gave: plant a Spruce tree; give a tent to the unhoused; support your favorite cause; adopt a pet from the shelter; buy a stranger a meal, or a child a book; attend a concert or community event; and whatever you choose, simply share it with your open heart and enthusiasm.
